Red and white male who is unmistakably all dog – every inch of him – substance and strength in bundles and well balanced too! A strong head of flashy appearance that is not overdone greets you first. Skull of cracking width and depth, powerful looking cheek muscles that are well pronounced. He is clean around the flews and has round, wide open nostrils at the end of a muzzle of good length. Dark eyes and neat correctly placed ears are used well to show a very pleasing expression which he wasn’t for showing off at first. At the start of the class, it was like one of my old report cards according to the teacher “Appears disinterested.” When it came to the crunch though, he pulled it out the bag. A neck of correct length and not stuffy supports his head. Well defined and well placed shoulders sit above front legs that contain a plethora of bone and feel as though they could double up as piles to hold up a jetty. Nice tight feet also. No issues with fitting a hand in between his front legs to see how far apart they are set which, in turn lets you feel a deep brisket. As I continued further with the hands on, he has well sprung ribs leading on to a short coupling with a good tuck up into the loins. His topline is worktop hard and just as level. Now we move on to his hindquarters which are jaw dropping to look at when stood still and on the hoof. He has thighs like Roberto Carlos and when he drives effortlessly up and down the mat, they ripple with definition and muscle mass. I have to confess that I made his handler move him and extra once up the mat so I could sneak another look. He holds his tail correctly when moving also. If there’s one thing I’d change about him is to see more fire about him in the ring. He got himself more up for it when the chips were down and wasn’t to be beaten for Best Of Breed. I hung around afterwards and was delighted to watch him being awarded Terrier Group 1. I was informed later on in day that he was also Reserve Best In Show. Excellent stuff!! He will be a champion this year.

Thank you Colin Boyle, Adstantes.

**CHAMPION**

NIATONA WRECK IT RALPH

Paignton Championship Show
Class Limit Dog
1st: 1367 REYNOLDS, Mr Garry & REYNOLDS, Mrs Susan Niatona Wreck It Ralph. Red and white dog who was on fire today. This dog’s white markings on his chest can detract and present an optical illusion but on going over him you realise that everything is as it should be. He has a classic Stafford head, powerful muzzle with good underjaw and correct dentition, with neat ear carriage. Straight broad front and depth of brisket, well sprung rib all leading to strong, muscular hindquarters giving him a lovely shape when viewed from behind. He was presented in fit, hard condition with tight fitting jacket and moved well, with purpose and drive. Today his handler got the most from him, and in the final line up this dog was on his toes not taking his eyes off of me and when the “magic mousey” was dropped in front of him he showed gameness that clinched the DCC & BOB. Well done.
