A blast from the past…

and a memorable one

Ch Jodels Mr Cool

JODEL’s MR COOL, better known as CASPER, is bred & owned by Laureen & Eddie Williams in England. I’ve had the honour of seeing Casper in real life at CRUFTS ’98 and found him of brilliant quality. He must be one of the most correct Staffords alive? One will gather from the photo’s that Casper is a balanced, very correct Stafford… some might think he is almost too “beautiful” for you can’t really fault him. I enjoyed his pigmentation and proportions immensely… for me, only a pleasure to my eye!!! Casper recently obtained his championship status…
Congratulations, Laureen & Eddie from S.A.

Open Dog

1st Williams’ – Ch Jodels Mr Cool

This red and white pied positively sparkled in this extremely competitive class, very good head shape, deep clean lipped foreface, strong white teeth, well defined stop with plenty of width and depth in skull, round dark eye, well set ears, powerful neck leading into a wide straight front, nice weight of bone, tidy feet, splendid rib, short coupled with a defined waist, good bend of stifle, well muscled and held his balance on the move. To be hypercritical I would like a slightly higher tail set but then the perfect animal has yet to be created.

From puppy in 1997 to Champion, he was made up in 1998 in 5 weeks then went on to win Best of Breed at Crufts in 1999

1st Williams – Jodels Mr Cool
There is nothing inferior about this dog, which I have always admired from the ringside. Predominantly white with red markings, very compact, extremely sound, well balanced and powerful dog, full of type and quality. Excellent head shape with the strength throughout, pronounced stop, neat ears, dark round eyes, clean muzzle, good bite, strong underjaw and cheek muscles, very good front, straight, well boned with let down in chest, ample rib, level topline, strong well angulated hindquarters, extremely sound in movement, wish he was mine.
CC, his 1st, showed and handled with expertise.

1st Williams – Jodels Mr Cool. Eye catching red pied, squarely built, compact dog, excellent head, deep throughout, by this I mean skull and underjaw, no “ice ceam cone” foreface here. Pronounced cheek bumps, defined stop, round eye, well placed small rose ears which he used to perfection, correct width of chest, well booned front legs, strong pasterns, short coupled body with good spring of rib and nicely defined waistline. This dog did have well muscled hindquarters and he moved in perfect, happy harmony with his handler.

Well worthy of CC, and later went Best in Show.

3rd CC and Best of Breed, no critique

Laureen later stated “Many thanks to all his fans who send HIM cards both from here and abroad, they will be kept forever. To all the breed specialists who thought Casper was as wonderful as we do thank you very much. The three that made our dreams come true (all with Best of Breed) are;
Mrs Ann Dick, Mrs Clare Lee (& Mr Brian Grattidge for Best in Show) and to crown him Champion, Mr Bill Hunter. Dreams can come true…

Casper was shown lightly in 1997 and throughout 1998, and only dismissed six times in both years.

1st Williams – Ch Jodels Mr Cool. This red pied dog fits the standard so well, the result is a beautifully balanced dog, his make and shape immediately catches the eye. All of this is confirmed when he moves up and down the ring with the “economy of effort” called for in the standard. His head is so good, every element in correct proportion. A top class example of our breed. The dog CC was won with ease, but had to give way in the irresistible bloom and presence of the bitch for Best of Breed.

The North East Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who played Bullseye at The Sunderland Empire Theatre

Casper the friendly white Staffordshire Bull Terrier, he was beautiful inside and out. He played Bullseye at the Sunderland Empire Theatre. At rehearsals the children were frightened of him, but once they got to know him, his true gentle nature shone through and he was loved. Casper had his own fan club outside of the stage door.

He is very much loved and missed. My once in a lifetime boy.
